The first album of Fingertone (Philip Alexandrov) and Malik (Michael Fleming aka Lexus) comes with a contemplative music that predisposes seeing and opening up to cosmic harmony. Philip Alexandrov is a graduate of the National Music School "L.Pipkov" and The Music Academy in Sofia, well known to the Bulgarian audience as a composer and performer in the albums of Plastic HiFi, BabyFace Clan, MMO, Grooveybone Crusher, Magnetik, Ruth Koleva, Beloslava and as the creator and co-author of Phuture Shock's iconic funk-jazz band.
Michael Fleming (Malik / Lexus) is known to the lovers of good music with many diverse projects in which he participates. Growing up in a colorful community of (Pittsburgh, PA) in direct contact with different cultures, artists and musical trends, he builds up as a multi-talented, experimenting artist. Well-known to the Bulgarian audience as creator and vocalist of the funk-jazz band TriOFive, and as a vocalist of Magnetik and his solo albums. Their meeting, 5 years ago, turns out to be a fateful breakthrough. The idea of a joint album appears instantly. They share the same musical preferences and life philosophy and ”Spiritual Funk to the Groove” was created out of respect for their favourite music. The album is inspired from the traditional jazz and funk music, which is not played anymore. This is a message to the artists that true music will never go away. Although it's dynamic, the album brings the peace of mind and leaves everyone alone to enjoy the hypnotic, contemplative vocals and bright music.
“Spiritual Funk to the Groove” was created with the support of few other artists and performers - vocalists Ruth Koleva and Elena Kokorska, drummer Deyan Dragiev - Dakata, saxophonist Petar Momchev, guitarist Mike DeLuka and drums programing Boyan Zlatkov - Barona and Vassil Vutev - Soulization.
